FAMILY: Ultimate Source of Everything
“And
then a hero comes along
With
the strength to carry on
And
you cast your fears aside
And
you know you can survive
So
when you feel like hope is gone
Look
inside you and be strong
And
you’ll finally see the truth
That
a hero lies in you.”
-
HERO, by Mariah Carey
Everybody can be a hero in so many ways. Someone who continues to fight for a cause in spite of fatigue and pain, someone who inspires us in order to move on with our lives through hardships and miseries .
There's this holiday that we celebrate every year wherein we call it National Heroes Day in honor to the brave, plucky, lionhearted and indomitable heroes who fought for us retrieving back the freedom of our beloved country.
These so-called Modern Day Heroes are those who in their own little ways contributed good deeds beneficial to others and to the nation. Among these modern day heroes are the migrant workers of OFWs through economy. Being away from their families is already a torture for them, what more if they are unjustly or brutally treated by their employers which mostly happen to domestic helpers. Their sacrifices just to earn money made them heroes in the eyes of their families even in their country as well.
Heroism is not only those who have global effect but acts of heroism is also defined as people who in their own simple way quietly extend help when they are needed. Those quiet but dedicated workers who are about to go in their respective work and being always ready in terms of helping. These includes parents, teachers, garbage collectors, mechanics, farmers, caregivers, carpenters, janitors, farmers, drivers and many more. The stories of these unsung heroes are not often read in newspapers or shown on television.
I consider my family as my ultimate source of everything, my Modern Day Hero at all times because of zillion reasons.Enumerating few reasons: they were the ones who helped me in terms of trouble or something negative that happened, taking care of me since I was born, the ones who supports me in my daily needs everyday, my first teachers, my mentors, my best friends and most importantly for giving me their greatest love as their one and only daughter. The fact that you may not share your private situations to your friends but you may share and open it to your family whenever possible. For without them I'll never had a chance to see the beauty of earth.
